Josh Duhamel is ready to say “I do” for a second time, announcing that he and his girlfriend Audra Mari are engaged.
The actor shared the happy news with his fans on Saturday, posting a photo to his Instagram of himself and Mari on the beach at sunset holding up a sign that reads, “Audra Diane Mari, will you marry me?” He captioned the shot, “It’s on!! She found a message in a bottle that washed ashore and said YES!!” Not only did the former Miss World America get engaged on Saturday, but it was also her 28th birthday. The comment section was flooded with well wishes from the couple’s friends, including Duhamel’s ex-wife Fergie who commented, “Congrats!!!,” with a string of green heart emojis.
The newly-engaged pair have been dating since 2019, the same year the Transformers star finalized his divorce from Fergie following their eight-year-long marriage. The pop star first filed for divorce in May 2019, almost two years after they publicly announced their split via a joint statement. “With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year,” they wrote at the time. “To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public.” The former couple, who share one child together, 8-year-old Axl Jack, concluded, “We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”
In December 2019, a month after he became officially divorced, a source told People that Duhamel was “really happy” with Mari and that they had begun “dating seven or eight months” prior. And in 2018, during an appearance on Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast, Duhamel revealed that, even fresh from his breakup, he still hadn’t given up on love and was looking forward to this next stage of his life. “I’m not 30 years old anymore. I’m 45. I want to have more kids in the next few years,” he said. “So it’s more about finding someone young enough to have kids. It’s not as if I’m out there trying to just fuck anything. That’s not who I am. I’m trying to find a girl that I can be with and have a family with.”
