The model and freshly-minted author shared a stunning photograph of herself at the CFDA Fashion Awards dressed in Miu Miu, and added a note at the end of her caption revealing she “almost didn’t” post the image.
Ratajkowski, who has been vocal about body-shaming after the release of her new memoir My Body, quickly deleted the supplementary caption — but not before fans noticed it.
“CFDAs! Thank you @miumiu and congratulations @ninagarcia,” the 30-year-old wrote.
“(Almost didn’t post this bc I knew the controversy it would stir up but hey it’s my body and I’m not going to lean into shaming! God bless!)” she added in the now-deleted caption.
Some followers weren’t so impressed with the model’s enviable stomach, branding her look as “unhealthy”.
“Am I the only one here that thinks she looks unhealthy?” one wrote.
“Your abs seem extremely emaciated,” another said.
Meanwhile, hundreds of other fans took to the comments to defend Ratajkowski against judgemental body-shamers and praised the model.
“The body shaming comments here make me sick. What’s wrong with you people?” one person said.
“Why do people think they can comment on an obviously fit and healthy person’s body?” another wrote.
In her recently released memoir, the mother-of-one recalled the vile treatment she received while working as a young model.
“I was a child… But somehow already an expert in detecting male desire, even if I didn’t completely understand what to make of it,” the Gone Girl actress wrote.
“I’ve never prayed much… But I do remember that as a young girl I prayed for beauty. Beauty was a way for me to be special.”
