In September, speculation mounted the 34-year-old had refused to be jabbed and had tested positive for the virus, causing a halt in the production of his new TV series The Offer.
The Whiplash star took to Twitter to set the record straight and confirmed he was indeed vaccinated against coronavirus.
“Hey guys, I don’t usually feel the need to address rumours on here but I am vaccinated and have been for a while,” Teller wrote. “The only thing I’m anti is hate.”
Teller’s vaccination status first attracted attention after reports surfaced the actor was causing problems on set by refusing to get the jab.
“Teller is not vaccinated. He wouldn’t even get the test. Now he’s brought the virus to the set and the whole set had to shut down,” an unknown source told The Daily Mail.
Teller’s publicist Lauren Hozempa rubbished the reports at the time and the publication: “Your facts are incorrect.”
However, The Offer was forced to pause production after an unnamed crew member reportedly tested positive for the virus.
In a statement, a representative for Paramount clarified, “Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily halted production on The Offer due to the return of a positive coronavirus test result during routine testing.”
“We will continue to follow all safety protocols and monitor the situation closely,” they told Deadline at the time.
The rumours gained momentum again after it resurfaced Teller had vacationed in Hawaii with Green Bay Packers quarterback and Shailene Woodley’s fiancé Aaron Rodgers, who tested positive for COVID-19 and admitted he wasn’t vaccinated.
Rodgers criticised vaccine mandates in the NFL during a radio show earlier this month, telling the host he believes in “bodily autonomy”.
“I’m not some sort of anti-vax, flat-earther,” Rodgers said.
“I believe strongly in bodily autonomy and the ability to make choices for your body, not to have to acquiesce to some sort of woke culture or crazed individuals who say you have to do something.”
