“He made sure (Even tho he wasn’t my biological father) to keep a stable foundation and roof over all of our heads during our upbringing!!!!”

She added: “Our many long talks of love and how a man needs to treat a woman. Maybe the reason a man hasn’t been able to hold on to me too long.”

The Heaven Sent songstress described her adoptive dad as a “very wise man” and as a great example of love, after 51 years of marriage to her adoptive mother Yvonne Cole.

“Seriously the most loving guy I’ve ever known. And he’s gonna be missed so much! I hate that this has happened!!!” she said.

Earlier this month, Yvonne provided an update on Leon after he was hospitalised in the ICU with severe COVID-19 symptoms.

“Mr. Cole is currently experiencing several health challenges due to COVID-19. He’s in the ICU,” she wrote on Facebook on November 7.

“We ask that you send your support, love, well wishes and prayers of comfort and healing to Mr. Cole and his loved ones at this time.”

Cole was adopted by Leon and Yvonne when she was two years old.

It is the second tragedy to befall the musician in only a few months, after Cole revealed her biological mother Frankie died in July.

Cole had reconciled with her mother in recent years before the 61-year-old died of a suspected drug overdose.

“This is so hard man. Can’t really even find the words. SMH. I honestly don’t even know how to feel. You can never prepare for something like this… Ever!!! but you will be missed,” Cole wrote on social media.
