Mark Hamill has set social media alight by simply tweeting his own name!
The Star Wars actor, 69, was asked by a fan to tweet ‘Mark Hamill’ as he was certain he’d go viral.
The individual wrote, “@HamillHimself you could just tweet ‘Mark Hamill’ and you’d get thousands of likes.”
Hamill swiftly responded by accepting the challenge, and low and behold he’s received 594K likes for the post.
Many of Hamill’s fans applauded him for having a positive influence on Twitter trends.
“It’s a slow news day, and Mark Hamill, awesome as always, is here for it! Thanks, Mark!” one follower commented.
Another wrote, “Well, the force is strong with this one.”
Star Trek actor George Takei hilariously followed suit, but it didn’t have the same effect.

Filmmaker Ken Olin also gave it a shot writing, “Will that work for anyone? Here goes: Mark Hamill.”
Hamill was thrust into fame by his performance in George Lucas’ Star Wars trilogy. The actor starred as Jedi Luke Skywalker for more than 40 years.
He recently returned to make a cameo in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker.
